Alma Artesanal began in July 2021 during a time of uncertainty, when work was difficult to find and many businesses could only open with restrictions. In the middle of that season, Lilian saw an opportunity to try something meaningful. With affordable local spaces available and a desire to move forward, Alma Artesanal was born and began its journey in Hatch, New Mexico.

Before opening the shop, Lilian had only sold essential masks that she made by hand during the crisis. What began as a simple way to keep going became the start of something bigger. Alma Artesanal was created as a chance to build something of her own, put her work to the test, and create a space centered on handmade products, care, and great service.
